The WIMbassador Program invites licensed physicians and healthcare professionals to become ambassadors of change in their institutions and communities. As part of this year-round leadership network, participants support WIM’s broader mission of fostering equity, building leadership capacity, and promoting a resilient healthcare workforce.
In an ambitious bid to drive local impact and national change within the healthcare system, Women in Medicine® (WIM) — a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and allies across healthcare — has unveiled its WIMbassador Program. This initiative is designed to cultivate physician leadership, strengthen community influence, and accelerate gender equity in medicine.
Women in Medicine® (WIM) is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering women in healthcare, alongside supportive male allies, to drive meaningful change across the healthcare system. Founded by Dr. Shikha Jain to address the unique challenges women face throughout their medical careers, WIM strengthens the healthcare workforce by providing resources, leadership development, research opportunities, and advocacy initiatives that support women at every stage of their professional journey. Through evidence-based strategies and innovative programming — including mentorship, community building, and large-scale events — the organization works to foster a more inclusive, equitable, and resilient healthcare environment for all.
A Platform for Local Leadership and National Influence
At its core, the WIMbassador initiative bridges WIM’s national advocacy goals with grassroots activity. Ambassadors benefit from a suite of resources that help them bring equity-focused programming to their local settings. These include WIM-branded event materials, professional development opportunities, mentorship, and discounted access to the 2026 Women in Medicine® Summit — one of the organization’s marquee events supporting women’s leadership in healthcare.
Importantly, the program welcomes not only physicians with active medical licenses but also Allied Healthcare Ambassadors — professionals from all clinical and allied health disciplines who want to champion women’s advancement in medicine.
Building Community and Career Growth
Beyond practical resources, the WIMbassador experience connects participants to a national network of peers and leaders dedicated to systemic change. Ambassadors gain visibility, access to mentorship, and opportunities to elevate their voice through speaking, leadership roles, and community initiatives. This collective network helps nurture the next generation of healthcare leaders and supports career development across specialties and stages.
